Design
The Samsung Pixon is a slightly bigger and thicker phone than the LG Arena. While the Arena measures 105.9 x 55.3 x 12 mm the Pixon has a vital statistics of 107.9X 54.6X 13.8 mm. The Samsung M8800 also feels heavier that the LG Arena. The LG KM900 has a TFT capacitive touch screen that is 3 inches wide. The Samsung Pixon boasts of a large 3.2 inches touch screen. The resolution of the display in LG Arena is WVGA 480X 800 pixels which is higher than that of the Samsung Pixon (WQVGA, 240X 400 pixels).
Camera
The Samsung Pixon is a powerful camera phone. The LG Arena in contrast is not really a camera phone. Hence its camera attributes are less impressive than the Samsung Pixon. The 5 Mega pixel camera of the KM900 Arena sports Schneider Kreuznach optics, auto focus, image stabilization and an LED flash to enhance picture quality. It also has geo-tagging attribute. The 8 Mega Pixel camera of the Samsung M8800 Pixon on the other hand is loaded with oodles of high tech aspects like face detection, 13 Scenes, Smile shot, Macro, Panorama, effects, white balance, fast focus, instant picture saving ability and ISO adjustments. The Pixon's flash is a let down but its color representation, picture detail and macro shots are excellent.
Multimedia facets
The Samsung Pixon has touted to be a multimedia phone. It out performs the LG Arena in this realm too, with an amazing collection of attributes. The phone's music player has an album art feature and provides superior audio quality with its stereos and great loudspeakers. The audio quality is also enhanced by the 7 equalizer presets and SRS WOW effect. The LG KM900's music player has Dolby mobile technology for high audio quality.
Both the LG Arena and the Samsung M8800 have an FM radio equipped with RDS. Both phones have Bluetooth connectivity for wireless listening and USB ports for connecting to other devices.
The Pixon phone can record videos in DVD quality (720X480 pixels). The video quality is high on both You Tube and larger screens. The Arena phone can record videos at 30 fps at a resolution of 720X480 pixels. However the QVGA resolution is a disappointment especially on You Tube.
The Samsung Pixon's video player supports video file formats like DivX, XviD and MP4 with H.264 codec. The LG Arena's video player supports video files like DivX, XviD and MPEG4.
Internet
The LG KM900 has EDGE technology, high speed HSDPA and Wi Fi for faster internet experience. The Samsung Pixon has high speed 3G and HSDPA for speedy internet connectivity but it does not have Wi Fi facility.
GPS
The LG Arena comes equipped with GPS receiver that is integrated with the electronic maps software- Google Maps. The Samsung M8800 has no voice guided GPS navigation facility.
The Samsung Pixon is suitable for tech savvy entertainment hungry buyers whereas the LG Arena serves as great mobile phones for professionals.
